Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

carry.'" ing furniture to and from auction sales within a 30-mile radius of my local town. I have applied for a variation to include furniture from shops in the town with a 40-mile radius. An article in COMMERCIAL MOTOR seems to indicate that there is no right of objection to B-licence variations relating to the class of goods to be carried as the Kitts appeal and that of Tower Transport in 1964 clearly established. Could you confirm if this is so?

A Since you are only adding to your goods

and marginally to your radius there is no right of statutory objection. The Licensing Authority may allow other hauliers in your area to make representation but this does not constitute an objection.

In such cases the other operators could neither produce witnesses nor could they cross-examine either the applicant or the applicant's witness. Furthermore a grant in your favour could not be subject to an appeal.
