TORQUAY and Paignton are making a strong bid to capture a bigger share of the holiday market by offering packaged holidays which show savings of up to ,C5. This means seven-day holidays on the South Devon coast from as little as £11 10s., including rail fare, coach tours and full accommodation.
The scheme has been made possible by cooperation between British Railways, Hotels Association members, the Devon General Omnibus and Touring Co. Ltd., and the Torquay and Paignton councils. Paignton's deal is offered to parties of 15 or over, holidaying from midSeptember to mid—june. Torquay makes a similar offer, but with the alternative of single bookings.
