W. D. (Bill) Brookes, for the past 4+ years publicity manager of FRF Ltd., has joined Small and Parkes Ltd., as press officer at its Hendham Vale, Manchester factory. E. van der Hall, who, as secretary of Van Deudekom-Timmerman NV, presented a paper to the 1966 COMMERCIAL MOTOR Fleet Management Conference, has been made managing director of a new company. ibis new haulage concern is A. J. A. Van Deudekom Rotterdam NV and results from the agreed withdrawal from the partnership of C. Timmerman of Amsterdam.

The new managing director of Rootes Motors Ltd., will be Gilbert Hunt, 52. He has resigned as managing director Of Massey-Ferguson (United Kingdom) Ltd. and will be taking up his new appointment on May 1.

D. H. Stephens has been elected chairman and J. Tomlinson vice-chairman of the Leeds division of the Industrial Transport Association.

A. R. A. Hall, export manager of Powell Duffryn Engineering Co.'s materials handling division, is on a five-week sales tour of Africa.

OBITUARY

We regret to record the death of Mr. A. M. Barrack.

Mr. Barrack, 80, was head of the road transport firm of A. M. Barrack and Son Ltd. He grew up with steam machinery, switching to petrol and diesel propulsion. He built up a considerable local and long-distance haulage business.
