The Road Haulage Association was beginning to be consulted more and more about projected legislation which was going to affect all hauliers' lives, said national vice-chairman Mr. J. P. Wells last week at the annual lunch in Nottingham of the East Midland area. "It therefore behoves ourselves to see whether we can adapt to the kind of association which can answer these questions which are being asked of us."
The East Midland Licensing Authority, Mr. C. M. Sheridan, speaking about maintenance, said that LAs were being compelled to resort to disciplinary measures but every revocation was the mark of failure to impress upon the black sheep of the indu stry that money spent on maintenance was never wasted.
