Tours Application Rejected

WITHOUT calling on the objectors to produce evidence, the South Eastern Traffic Commissioners last week refused an application by Southern Vectis Omnibus Co., Ltd., to extend operations to include May and September in roundthe island excursions from Ryde. Shanklin, and Ventnor, in a reverse direction.

The chairman, Mr. H. J. Thom, sitting at Ryde, commented: "What is wanted on this island is a little more common sense, and the parties should get together with the Southern Vectis company and arrive at a system whereby all will benefit."

A similar application by the SVOC last year was also refused.
