BASED on a Morris-Commercial 2-ton six-cylinder 11-ft. 6-in. wheelbase Equi-load chassis. the van-type fire. engineshown in accompanying illustrations has a fullpower transmission take-off for driving the main 2.50500 g.p.m. centrifugal-type pump situated at the rear of the van, and a first-aid pump driven from the power take

off by duplex roller chain ; this pump delivers 20 g.p.m. at 80 lb. pressure with a -A-in.-diameter jet.

A galvanized water tank, of 180 gallons capacity, is mounted on the chassis frame directly behind the driver's partition, and has 11-in.-diameter inlet and outlet pipes with a large screwed filler cap at top for filling by hand. A copper feed pire is run from the main pump header to this tank and a suction pipe is run from the tank to the first-aid pump. A delivery pipe also runs from the firstaid pump delivery to a breeching piece adjoining the main pump.

Three lockers with shelves, accessible from the outside, are ranged on each side of the van for accommodating 21-in.-diameter delivery hose, and additional lockers, with hinged lids, for accessories are built on to these inside the vehicle. Padded cushions are strapped in place over the lids of the lockers, which thus provide seats for the crew.

Four 8-ft. lengths of suction hose are carried inside the vehicle on special brackets. Four 60-ft. coils of 1-in.diameter non-kink rubber hose, With couplings for the firstaid pumps, are carried on the top of the water storage tank.
