Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRUCK DRIVERS could soon be able to detect illegal immigrants without having to open the back of their vehicle, thanks to a new device from a Coventry company.

The carbon dioxide detector, which is expected to cost between £300 and £500, displays a green, amber or red light in the cab, with red indicating that there is definitely someone in the back.

The man behind the new system is James Hook, managing director of electronics design company Architecta.

Hook says: "It has become clear that the CO2 detectors used by customs at ports don't always work, probably because it takes some time for CO2 to build up." The new detector, once fixed, would permanently monitor the

carbon dioxide levels in the back of trucks so that as the levels build up the light changes colour. It is in two parts, one underneath the trailer and the other in the cab, and it runs through the usual 24V power cables used in the vehicle.

Hook says: "It means the driver will not have to open the back of the vehicle and risk being faced by immigrants who might attack him."
