Merryn Walters from Luton couldn't believe her eyes when she visited the Commercial Vehicle show in Birmingham and saw a friend she hadn't seen for six years. However, there was no emotional reunion because the friend, Steve Holloway, was staring at her from a 12ft Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles poster.
Steve, from Warminster, Wiltshire, is an organic trout farmer and runs his fishmonger's in Longbridge, Deverill. He appeared in the campaign which uses real people instead of actors. Merryn got in touch with Steve through VW and the pair were reunited at the company's Oval Van Centre at Westbury, Wiltshire. Not the most romantic rendezvous, I grant you, but judging by the broad smiles a very successful one.
