Tamplin order

TAMPLIN Engineering has received an order worth £36,000 for pneumatic discharge equipment to be installed on Locomotor bulk feed vehicles for the RHM Group.

The equipment will feature minor designed-in modifications worked out by Tamplin in conjunction with RHIVI engineers.

Braking partnership

TURNER and Newall are to form a joint company with the American Maremont Corporation to acquire Maremont's friction material and brake part operations.

T&N will pay about £4.7 million for 80 per cent of the new company, but the agreement is subject to Bank of England and other necessary authorisation.

Trafex 77

Ro-ro increase

DUNLOP is to increase its use of roll-on, roll-off facilities for trailers on the ferry services between Ireland and the UK. At present up to 14 trailers loaded with raw materials and finished goods use the service each week, and by the end of the year this will be increased to 20. The size of the trailers will also be increased from 33ft to 40ft.

New SR5 route

A NEW road haulage service from Scotland to the Faroe Isles has gone into operation through Scottish Road Services.

Three 40ft refrigerated trailer vans, an articulated motive unit and a smaller rigid refrigerated van make up the fleet, which will operate a weekly service.
