• The relaxation of driving hours rules for those engaged in the carriage of animals (CM last week) is expected to come into effect on Sunday. July 26, in time for the major autumn livestock sales. It is expected that the regulations will be laid in Parliament today, Friday, by the Minister of Transport.
The Minister promised last week that when new regulations were made, livestock drivers would be able to have a 14-hour daily spreadover, a 66-hour working week and flexibility in respect of their weekly rest day.
