MORMALLY there are at least 12 teams
of engineers checking heavy lorries and more were being provided for the current series of special checks, said Mr. Marples this week. In June, 6,858 goods vehicles were inspected and 3,787 prohibition notices issued, 625 of them with immediate effect.
