Details of an Interesting Vehicle which is Running in Johannesburg.

WE RECENTLY received interesting news of a Wolseley Siddeley bus at present operating in Johannesburg, where it startsfrom thecorner of Symonds and Commissioner Streets and goes to the booms at the Post Office, May. fair. It is known as the .Trelawny Service,. and is run by Matthews and. Son, Doornfontein, who also .built the body, the seats for which were 'removed froth

a, bus originally constructed foi: the Municipality n 1914.

The chassis has ..been lengthened by means of parts froma Star car s the springing also has been supplemented to take the extra loads which are carried

in bus work. . .

At: the request of the owners, we in. quired from the makers, Wolseley Motors, Ltd., Adderley Park. Birmingham, as to when the 'chassis left the dieps, and we were informed that: this was in May, 1908. It was, of course, not intended for use as a bus but was de...signed for carrying private car bodies,. and the fact that the vehicle now carries as many as 17 adults and seven children on occasion, shows that it must have embodied excellent workmanship.
