Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The two exhibits on this stand are of exceptional interest, in that the models staged are of the German War Office subsidy type. The exhibits consist of the company's two-ton model and the five-ton machine. Detaile of the latter were fully described in our issue dated the 30th January, and with the exception of a very few minor improvements the model now shown conforms in every respect with the details then published. The rated lop. of the engine is 40 50 b.n. A special feature is the finger-lever control, which is fitted on the steering wheel, actuating the throttle control and engine air-brake. The final drive is by means of side roller chains. The twin-tired wheels are each mounted on three rows of ball bearings. The machine is capable of drawing a four-ton trailer. The chassis price without tires is £650. The smaller model is fitted with a 24 lt.p. four-cylinder engine cast en bloc. The thermo-syphon system of cooling is here adopted, and a distinctive feature of the

chassis is the long propeller shaft enclosed in a cold-drawn steel tube and provided with a centre bearing. The live axle is enclosed in a suitable mild-steel casting split vertically. Another point .worthy of mention is the spherical jointed

torque rod. The chassis price without tires for this machine is £490.

Other interesting features worthy of notice on this model are the adjustable jet, which is worked from the dashboard, the spring drive, and the greasers which are fitted throughout. The engine is suspended in front on a pivot joint, in order to isolate it from chassis strain. The inspection doors in the crankcase are large enough to withdraw the piston and connecting rods, without the necessity of dismantling the whole of the engine completely. This is in itself a feature of considerable importance in the eyes of the everyday user.
