VOSA'S LGV test station in Ammanford, Wales is to stop testing on 15 March; the two nearest Vosa stations, at Llantrisant, Cardiff and Haverfordwest are 50 miles away.
Swansea-based Iveco dealer CEM Day aims to fill the gap, and opened the first ATF serving both trucks and buses in south-west Wales last week. "We are starting by opening the ATF on two days a week, but that will be increasing," said Day's director of commercial operations David Watkins.
He anticipates extending the days of operation within "a matter of weeks."
