A NORTH LONDON skip operator had its 0-licence suspended for 48 hours after its boss was convicted of driving while disqualified and using a vehicle without insurance.
In a written decision following a public inquiry in Eastbourne, traffic commissioner (TC) for the South East Nick Denton suspended the two-vehicle licence of Tottenham-based Andrew Wise trading as Wise Waste Skip Hire on 25 and 26 November.
The inquiry was called after Wise applied for his vocational driving licence — allowing him to drive LGVs — to be restored after his driving disqualification had ended.
After hearing evidence from Wise, the TC ruled that his LGV driving licence be restored, but issued a warning to him in respect of his conduct.
Turning to a new application from Wise for an 0-licence for a limited company — Wise Skip Hire — the TC granted it an interim licence, giving it time to submit the necessary paperwork for the full licence.
