Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE EUROPEAN Parliament has slashed the amount of paperwork demanded of EU hauliers.

Once the move is confirmed by the EL.; Council of Ministers, operators crossing national borders within the EU will no longer have to carry and provide certain information on tariffs, commercialagreements, price deals and transport conditions The EC says: "These requirements stem from a time when intra-EU transport was heavily regulated. With liberalisation of goods transport, a great part of the required information is no longer needed."

It adds that drivers will no longer have to carry separate transport documents explaining frontier crossing points, routes to be taken or the distance travelled.

EU Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot says: "This is a good example showing how to reduce administrative burdens without endangering road safety, environment and fair competition."
