• Plaxtons (GB) has announced the appointment of John Carpenter as managing director of its whollyowned subsidiary company Reeve Burgess, with effect from January 5, 1987. He succeeds Neil Beresford following his appointment as general manager of the Coach Division at Scarborough.
Carpenter, 42, is a chartered engineer and a member of the Institute of Production Engineers.
• Ric West has taken over at Henlys of Wembley from Geoff Brown who is retiring after 45 years in the industry. West has been in the motor trade for 25 years, 10 years with the London Ford dealer, Frys of Lewisham.
• Joep Van den Bos has been appointed a director of Ferrymasters.
Van den Bos, 47, is a Dutch citizen who lives in Wolfheze, Netherlands. For the last five years he has been general manager of the Ferrymasters Central European Division, the company's largest operating division based in Rozenburg, Netherlands.
• Bees Security Distribution, the national high care, secure parcels carrier with depots at Linwood, Morley, Hinckley and Feltham, has appointed Jim Smith to general manager, contract services.
