HIGH interest rates have reduced British Electric Traction's pre-tax profits for the half year from 30.41m to £27.97m, and it does not expect much improvement in the next six months.
United Transport, which includes the group's United Kingdom haulage interests, has continued to improve its profits, but is expected to show the effects of the recession later this year.
