WAGE negotiations between the Transport and General Workers Union and the National Freight Company began yesterday (Friday), and are due to continue next week.
The Union has rejected NFC's pre-emptive £3 across-the-board wage offer (CM, December 13, 1980) saying it does not accept that it is a matter to be discussed by correspondence, and is negotiating on the basis of its national delegates' claim for an increase in line with the retail price index.
