OUR Bedford and three LeyInd chassis with bodies by :ergusons (Tankers) Ltd of 'ortsmouth have joined the itates of Guernsey's municipal leet.

These 3,650 litre (800 gal) esspit emptiers are based on I.05m (10ft) wheelbase TK1260 ind Boxer 1235 chassis.

Made from 5mm (0.2in) mild teel the tanks are carbo-zinc ined to reduce possible corroion.

Each tank is fitted with a single inti-surge baffle and is equipped vith a Hammond Orion 140cfm pelt driven compressor/exhauser.

The tank shell is raised by 00mm (4in) at the front end to .peed up emptying and a 75mm 3in) vent valve at the rear allows he operator to vent the tank vithout spillage risks before lischarging.

Full-length hose boxes are abricated from galvanised plate vith aluminium lids.
