ONLY 20 lorries per day using a nearby rubbish tip would not justify an earlier beginning to the Llanidloes by-pass, according to Powys County Council surveyor Ronald Daniels.
Calls for the date of the £1.8m scheme to be brought forward are likely to go unanswered, and the project will probably not start before 1987.
The Town Council had hoped that the new road would be in use before Montgomery District Council's refuse tip near the town is completed.
