THE HEALTH and Safety Co mission has invited commel on a proposal for a system classifying and labelling all i plosives along lines similar the Hazchem scheme.
Under the proposed regu tions, no explosives could transported or stored in 1 United Kingdom unless th have been classified, issued w appropriate licences, al labelled as necessary.
There would be a simplifi and improved classification a labelling system for commerc and military explosives, so tt operators and the emergen services would have less di' culty identifying particular ( plosives and determining th possible effects.
The HSC says the scher would comply with rece United Nations recommenc tions, and comes into line w European Communitil directives. It seeks comments April 30 this year.
