A NEW VAN design, the Taskvan S. has been developed by Cravens Homalloy as an addition to its existing range of semi-trailer vans.
Constructed from steel instead of the usual aluminium for this type of unit the completed trailer is 1/4-ton heavier than its aluminium counterpart but offers, says Cravens, great advantages to fleet operators who are looking much more closely at first costs.
A further advantage is the steel construction's greater resistance to the effects of bad loading or from impact from outside. The problem of corrosion has been overcome by the steel sheeting being dipped in molten aluminium so that the entire surface is fully aluminium faced before welding.
