The Atlas Preservative Co. Ltd (a Burmah company) has developed a polyurethane vehicle finish, the Epidura PU. for the transport industry that is claimed to reduce maintenance arising from dirt accumulation, spillage and abrasion. It has been successfuly applied to Burrnah and Castrol road tankers over a 12-month period and its dust-shedding properties should be of particular interest, the maker states to the operators of tiPping vehicles. The finish is highly resistant to cleaning with a steam jenny.
The finish has a high gloss and 1gal enables 55/65 sq.yd of surface to be covered. Touchdry time is 4 hours, while recoating time and hard-drying time are respectively 6/8 hours (maximum 24hr) and 16hr respectively, Made by: Atlas Preservative Co Ltd., Erith, Kent.
