Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A wide range of specialized heavy-duty slings for lifting tasks in the construction, maintenance and transport industries is being supplied by Audax Ltd.

Slings, woven in nylon, Terylone or Ulstron, can be supplied at short notice in dimensions to meet the needs of each individual customer. Their straight inner core—itself many times stronger than the applied load— is sheathed in tight, interlacing outer layers designed to withstand hard use. This tiered structure provides great strength and high shock absorption. The slings are resistant to stretch, damp, rot and many forms of chemical attack. Special impregnations further increase resistance to wear.

Due to their low weight and fibre-softness it is claimed that the slings prevent risk of abrasion or damage to the most awkward loads, and hazards to life and limb. They possess high energy absorption plus excellent recovery from strain. Many years of practical slinging experience allied to the 6:1 safe working factor, ensure a safe and fit response to lifting problems. There are five forms of the type available in nylon of widths varying from 1 to 24in. and capable of bearing loads from 1,000Ib to 24,00016.

included in the range are: a choker sling, with forged-alloy end fittings forming a slip noose with the webbing. And, because it squeezes the load, the choker sling can be used singly in many cases; a double-eye sling lsingleor reverse-eye type) which has soft sewn eyes, an important feature of the sling. makes good contact with the lifting hook without metal fittings, and its soft eye is easily pulled from under loads, such as concrete pipes. An endless weblift sling, probably the most versatile and most widely used type, is also produced.
