Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Blacks Equipment Ltd. is announcing the addition of an entirely new taper-ferrule to its range of existing wire rope splicing ferrules.

For this device is claimed not only the advantage of -nonsnag" splice obtained, but also, for the first time, the fact that the position of the rope within the ferrule can be known at a glance after pressing.

When the specially engineered ferrule is pressed into position a small observation hole is left on one side. by which the safe position or otherwise of the return end of the rope loop can be established. No longer is the user in doubt as to whether or not he has made a safe and trustworthy joint with a taper-ended ferrule.

Up to now this observation has only been possible with a parallel ferrule after compression. Furthermore the rope remains absolutely straight and unkinked after pressing, thus imposing no undue stresses at the joint.

A brochure describing this range of ferrules is available from the company on request.
