• Co-operation between the Road Transport Industry Training Board, manufacturers, management within the industry and the Department of Transport Technology, Loughborough University of Technology, has resulted in a series of three-day courses designed for the needs of those who organize fleet maintenance.
The first of these courses starts on February 10. The first day includes a lecture on the principles of semi-conductor devices and a film entitled "Introduction to Electronics". The second day's lectures are "The Application of Semi-conductor Devices to Vehicle Systems" and "Electrical Systems Engineering. Factors Influencing Selection of Equipment". On the final day there will be lectures and demonstrations on tachographs and commercial vehicle instruments and heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems.
The fee for attendance is £30, inclusive of accommodation, meals and refreshments. Attendance qualifies for R11113 management training grants.
