Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Two Midlands truck dealers are vying for a brewery fleet maintenance contract following Marston's decision to close its garage.

The brewer operates more than 50 trucks-17 tonne rigids and 38-tonners, plus 24 trailers—from its Burton on Trent base and depots at Winchester and Wrexham. The garage's six employees will be redeployed within the brewery.

Bids have been invited from Scania dealer East Midlands Commercials and a combination of Volvo Finance and Volvo dealer Hartshorne Motor Services, based in Walsall.

The brewer has decided to

invest in its core business rather than the increasingly expensive technology needed to maintain its truck and car fleet, says Marston's group distribution manager Philip Barnett, The free servicing deals offered on many new vehicles are another factor, he adds.
