• A successful half-year for Boughey Distribution has been capped by new contracts from Heinz and a supermarket chain, according to its parent, NFW Group.
The Cheshire distribution and warehousing specialist made a significant contribution to the group's 50% profits increase in the half-year to the end of November, says NFW. The group made a pre-tax profit of
£824,000 on a turnover up 20% at £22.2 million.
Boughey's "figures were slightly up on last year," says managing director Michael Guest. Details of the new business cannot be revealed yet, but it will involve consolidation, allowing Boughey to pass on savings to customers, he says.
The group comprises two other companies, NFW Agriculture and NFW Fuels.
