MR. PHILIP W. COPELIN, chairman and managing director of Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., since 1955, is resigning to become manager of the New York staff of General Motors Corporation.
He will be succeeded at Luton on April 1 by MR. WILLIAM SWALWW, who is at present chairman and managing director of General Motors, Ltd., London.
MR. SWALLOW, who is 56, was born at Gomersal, in the West Riding of Yorkshire. During his career he has held appointments with Karrier Motors, Ltd., The Pressed Steel Co., Ltd., and Short Bros., Ltd. He joined General Motors in 1947 and was made a director of Vauxhall Motors, Ltd., in 1956.
