BEDFORD'S interests may well be strengthened from January 1 when its parent group, the General Motors Worldwide Truck and Bus Group, gains a place on the GM executive committee.
Group executive Donald Atwood, who is responsible for all GM commercial vehicle manufacturing throughout the world, has been promoted to become an executive vice-president, one of five on the top GM executive committee.
Mr Atwood replaces Reuben Jensen, who retires. Mr Jensen is currently responsible for the Truck and Bus Group, Power Products and Defence, and Components Operations.
