AN adequate network of roads is needed between the Midlands and east coast ports, RI-IA chairman Jack Male said on Saturday.
, He told members at the annual dinner of the Coventry, Rugby and Warwickshire sub-area: "The Midlands are often described as the indus trial heart of Britain. Weil, a heart needs clear, unobstructed arteries for survival."
While certain parts were being adequately supplied, other areas were making do with "arteries" not designed for the present level of strain.
There was a definite risk of a fatal seizure if they were not replaced.
