AN order revoking a vehicle licence held by Mrs. G. M. Wild, of Mere.worth, Kent, was made in her absence at Eastbourne last week.

The South Eastern Licensing Authority. Maj.-Gen. A. F. J. Elmslie, said that ever since he came into the area endeavours had been made to contact Mrs. Wild. Every method of approach had failed and it was decided to call her to the court to explain her actions. This had not succeeded.

It was learned only the previous day that a Contract A licence had terminated last September. She still had a C licence for one vehicle and this was now revoked.

Two applicants for licences were also absent, although a number of objectors appeared, and the LA said it was most reprehensible for the time of the court to be wasted in this way.
