Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRUCKERS WORKING IN the London borough of Westminster nowface being caught on camera and fined for illegal parking.

A network of 20 cameras came online on 7 August covering streets including Old Brampton Road, Oxford Street, Piccadilly and the Strand. Drivers caught on camera breaking the parking rules were initially issued with warnings but from next Monday (28 August) they will be fined.

Danny Chalkley, the council's cabinet member for economic development and transport. says the pilot scheme proves CCTV is reliable and cost-effective: "CCTV cameras mean more tickets will be right the first time."

But Mike Bracey, chairman of the Brewery Logistics Group, has concerns about the cameras, which already operate in the City, Enfield, Camden and Lambeth. "The cameras aren't going to give you any leeway,' he points out.

Drivers hit with parking fines can check the CCTV record of their offences footage on the Westminster Council website: www.westminstergov.uk/ transportandstreets/parking
