Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Bargains are proving to be elusive as business at auction continues unabated. Manheim's Alex Wright reports.

The 3.5-tonne-plus sector is one of the only areas where a good deal can be found as an abundance of vehicles continue to flood the market. Tippers and dropsiders are still in short supply, however, and unless an influx of these derivatives hits the market over the next month, prices can be expected to remain strong due to high demand.

The bus sector, in contrast, is having a slow time; despite a steady supply of well-specced examples, many vehicles are leaving the auction halls unsold. Buyers should be able to spot a bargain if a vehicle is showing up at sales time after time.

In all other sectors, including the under 3.5-tonne and carderived markets, demand continues to outstrip supply.

The old shape VW Transporter leads the charge in the auction halls, with the Citroen Dispatch and Fiat Scudo following closely behind. Guide prices frequently underestimate the demand for such vehicles at auction.

It's a similar story for the longwheelbase Ford Connect, with buyers willing to pay above book price for the practicality of a side loading door. If you can manage without one, the short-wheelbase Connect, minus the side door, is an excellent place to start for those with tighter purse strings.

The 4x4 market recently suffered a dip in demand that. nc I surprisingly, coincided with the unveiling of new models from Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota.

However, used values of previous-generation models are on the rise again. If you're lookin for a real bargain in this sector yo may have missed the boat, but it would still be wise to buy sooner rather than later as prices are expected to continue to rise. to
