David Howard, directorgeneral of Tyne and Wear PTE, says talks will take plac as soon as a suitable date car be agreed. "The vibes are right and there is a lot of con mon ground," he says.
Howard, who earlier in the year led a breakaway group which tried to set up its own alternative association for tendering authorities, says: "We have all now lived with deregulation a little longer an the feeling is that there is more to be gained by cooperating with each other, rather than the reverse."
