• A new Eager Beaver minibus operation and a new Mainline double-decker base are to start in Sheffield next month, as South Yorkshire Transport settles on selfaccountable units for service development.
Two garages housing the existing units will host the two new units, each with their own managers and staff specifically allocated.
Berries garage, which houses the existing Mainline unit, will have a nine-minibus Beaver unit to operate its 13/ 14 routes.
Greenland's Beaver unit is to grow from 37 to 44 minibuses and a new double-deck Mainline unit of 15 buses will start operation on the 93 route.
Some service modifications will be made, but generally the new service will be of higher frequencies. They will be marketed seperately from thu main SYT network and will have their own staff and vehicles.
