• Coca-Cola Bottlers (Ulste; has invested £500,000 in 24 Mercedes-Benz 1617 drop frame rigids fitted with DonBur Deckstepper bodies.
Coca-Cola uses the "dray style" vehicles to deliver 10tonne loads around Northern Ireland. The vehicles were ck veloped by Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, Don-Bur Bodies and Chassis Developments of Leighton Buzzard.
The vehicles provide a 609mm loading height for the main deck. The Deckstepper body is fitted with a specially developed, all-aluminium extr sion cant rail, which includes the curtain top tracking. The side curtains extend right up and lock into recesses in the front pillar assemblies, to pro vide very clean body sides formed by the full-length, full liveried side curtains.
The body is divided interru ly by a full-length A-frame which divides the load area If gitudinally. The rear drop we has twin load restraint nets a the front drop well has a late curtain.
The order also includes a Mercedes 1729 Powerliner 2 tractor and seven new Mercedes 408D vans.
