and torque for operation at 38 tonnes led Mercedes-Benz to introduce the 2033S 6x2 last year. The model follows the 4x2 1633S and, since its introduction at the Institute of Road Transport Engineers conference, it has become the company's best selling twinsteer tractive unit.
Such is its sales success that the future of the 2028 must now be seriously under review. But overall in the 29-ton-andabove sector of the market the Mercedes-Benz share has increased from 9.3 per cent in 1984 to 11.3 per cent this year.
