A SPOT-CHECK of a lorry on the MI cost a traffic clerk his job and a Colnbrook haulage firm hundreds of pounds in redesigning a "fail-safe" document system.
Magistrates at Slough court were shown a printed document folder which included a check-list designed to ensure the haulage firm did not appear before the court again.
Plant and Engineering (Longford) Ltd of Mill Street, Colnbrook, pleaded guilty to the charge of using a goods vehicle with no valid test certificate.
