• London Transport is to sell 4p flat-fare single tickets in bulk on 15 suburban routes — saving travellers 2p on the cost of 13, 4p rides.
Under the new scheme, to start next month, passengers will be able to buy a card of tickets for 50p from the driver, giving them 13 journeys on any 4p flat-fare bus.
The proposal is linked with LT's policy of phasing out of change-giving on these routes. Prepaid tickets have been available on three Ealing services for two years.
