Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW mechanical heavy-duty disc brake, the Mark IX incorporating an independent handbrake, which can be accommodated in any type of braking system, is to be one of the features of the Dunlop stand at the Commercial -Motor Show. Other exhibits include braking systems, air suspensions,

universal joints, rims and wheels. ,

The new disc brake, intended for larger commercial vehicles, is a mechanical design which can be operated remotely by air, vacuum, or hydraulic means, with an independent .handbrake at the rear. With previous types of cam

mercial vehicle disc brake, a separate handbrake has been necessary to brovide effective parking/emergency braking. This new Dunlop brake is a simplified compact design, in. which the same pad assemblies are employed for mechanical and main braking.

Another new Dunlop disc brake to be shown is the Series III which has been developed from a recently introduced model for medium-sized cars. The commercial vehicle derivative now offered is to a simplified design and provides reductions in weight and cost over existing designs.
