The trials, whioh are open to agricultural tractors and, self-contained ploughs of all kindS, will take place in two parts, the first being the ploughing of medium land for cotton in the Southern Delta about the last week in January, 1921, and the second, of heavy land in the Northern Delta about the first week of March, 1921. 'The same machine may take part in 'both trials, but separate

1332 reports 'will he published. The exact date and place of the trials will be notified to entrants.

Commercial Agent is prepared to awist in every possible way United Kingdom -manufacturers whose' -machines are not already on the Egyptian market, 'and who are desirous of com, peting at these trials. Those manufacturers already represented in Egypt are advised to instruct their agents to get into touall with him at the Residency, Cairo, while those as yet unrepresented can be advised as to the appoifitment of suit, able representatives on application to the same quarter.'

It is of the utmost importance that all British manufacturers should have experts in Egypt, who can do their machines justice, give expert advice to intending purchasers. and train native mechanics to drive and keep the machines in repair.

' -.'m alone are not sufficient; ploughs, cultivators, and pulverizers for iignt, medium, and heavy work are an essential adjunct ; fuel economy is a most important desideratum. Steam tractors are impracticable in View of the shortage of coal and locally. grown fuel, and of their weight as compared with petrol-driven tractors.

We hope to be able to Publish the regulations at an early date.
