• A vehicle operator has managed to cut its fuel costs by 12.5% after implementing Cybit's Fleetstar Online vehicle tracking and reporting system.
Building maintenance contractor John Youngs Insurances Services, which specialises in carrying out housing repairs for insurance companies including Norwich Union, uses the system to manage its building contractors in real time via the Internet. Fleetstar Online's satellite tracking and analysis has allowed it to improve efficiency, it claims.
The system is already installed on 75 of the firm's vehicles, with a further 25 units on order.
Managing director Paul Hannant says the system is helping to save over 100 miles per vehicle, per month. "In our initial implementation, we managed to cut the fuel consumption of vehicles running Fleetstar Online by around 12.5%—a real bottom-line saving of around £2,700 per
