Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ASERIES of six weekend courses in transport management, each lasting from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, has been organized by the Department of Business Studies, South Dorset Technical College, Connaught House, Cross Road, Weymouth. The tutor will be Mr. A. I. Briscoe.

The courses can either be taken in succession to form a complete training syllabus or can be chosen selectively according to the content of each self-contained weekend programme. The fee per weekend course is 12 gns., and the venue will be at a Weymouth hotel yet to be named.

Subjects are:

October 28-30; Application of management principles (organization, organization structure, administration).

November 11-13: Accounting control (historical records, standard costs and budgetry control, marginal costing and break-even analysis, economic organization and national problems).

November 25-27: Traffic operations (general haulage, trunk-general service-tramp operations, parcels operations, indivisible loads, routeing, C licence and delivery operations).

December 9-11: Legal aspects (commertial law, conditions of carriage, Transport Act, log sheets, insurance, licensing), January 6-8: Maintenance (legal reponsibilities, maintenance organization, the role of the engineer, practical aspects).

January 20-227. Human relations (the individual and the group, selection, training and education).
