ACOMPLETELY tebtlilt garage at Sittingbourne, Kent, has been provided by Maidstone and District Motor Services, Ltd., for maintenance and garaging of its locally based vehicles. Normal work was continued whilst the Old building was demolished and the new one erected.

The new building replaces an old timber structure which was originally a 1914-18 war aeroplane hangar. It is designed to house 26 vehicles, and is equipped with two pits and a drivethrough washing machine. Offices for the divisional inspector and other staff have been included.

BUSMAN ATTACKS "PIRATES" WRITING for his company's magaWV zinc, Mr. J. H. Richardson, traffic manager of the Northern General Transport Co,. Ltd., has attacked " pirate minibuses, which he says can been seen parked outside collieries and other industrial establishments every day whilst their owners are at work. They paid no proper licence fees, ignored conditions of fitness and flouted the authority of the Traffic Commissioners, he charged.

"PIRATE" WARNED

FOR using a minibus to transport factory workers when he did not hold a road service licence, James Knight, of Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, was reproved by the chairman of the Scottish Traffic Commissioners, Mr. W. F. Quin, in Glasgow last week. If he continued the offence, said Mr. Quin, it would probably mean prosecution.

Mr. Knight had made application for a licence to run the service. It was refused.
