Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Northern, OPERATORS of excursions and tours to the Lake District and parts of Lancashire from Windermere and Ambleside, will submit to the Northern Traffic Commissioners, at their sitting at Carlisle on October 7th, a fares schedule.

Yorkshire.

THE sitting of the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners at Rotherham, on October 6th, will be concerned' mainly with stage-carriage services, most of the applicants being small operators. On the same day, at 2 p.m., an inquiry will be held at-Rotherham into an application by Rotherham Corporation for Permission to operate outside its boundaries.

B4-8 North-Western.

AT the North-Western Traffic Com missioners' sitting to be held at Liverpool from October 3rd-7th, a large proportion of the applications will be made by Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., and the corporations of Birkenhead, Liverpool, Wallasey and Widnes. There will be a considerable amount of opposition from a wide variety of interests, including, of course, the railway companies.

Eastern.

WHEN the Eastern Traffic Commis . sioners sit at Norwich, on October 6th, the applicants will mainly be small operators, exceptions including the Nor wich Electric Tramway Co., the Eastern Omnibus Co., Ltd., and the Bush and Twiddy concern.

Westcliff.on-Sea Motor Services, Ltd., will make 'about 50 per cent. of the applications at the sitting at Southend, on October 7th, when a certain amount of opposition will be provided by Southend Corporation and other operators.

• South Wales.

STAGE-CARRIAGE services will be chiefly concerned when the South Wales Traffic Commissioners sit at Carmarthen, on October 4th-5th. A wellknown applicant will be the Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd., which concern also figures in the " objections or representations" column of Gazette 51.
