Essential Details from the Specifications of the British and Foreign Tractors Entered for the S.M.M. and T. Trials.
THE INFORMATION contained in the following summary of specifications concerning' the tractors .entered for the trials organized by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and taking place this week at Lincoln will be found to be all that is immediately essential to those visiting the cathedral city and witnessing the demonstrations and to those who subsequently will be watching the results of the trials. The information given comes under certain definite heads and is therefore aVailable for comparison. There are, however, a few instances where the speeds are not given or the weights have not been obtainable. These instances will be found to apply to the new British tractors which are not in a sufficiently advanced stage of construction for these details to be given. Details such as the drawbar purl and the horse-power at the pulley are not given, as they will have been determined and offieielly announced by the judges during the two days preceding the trial. It will be observed that in most eases two and three machines of each type are entered. This is tie allow two machines to be tested for ploughing and cultivating, whilst the third machine will demonstrate its capacity in hauling and threshing.
