Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I notice in CM September 25, that on page 130 Derek Moses makes the point that the 9.5metre single-door SELNEC bus is lcwt heavier than the 10-metre two-door LUT bus and expresses surprise.

I would have been astonished, particularly as the framework for the two buses is almost identical apart from the length, provision of the second exit and the enclosure of the rear end of the bus. What has happened is that Mr Moses has confused 9.15 tons for 9 tons 15cwt., so in consequence the SELNEC bus is 11 cwt lighter—which makes sense HARRY TAYLOR, Divisional Chief Engineer, SELNEC Passenger Transport Executive.
