• A full review of routes, requested by the Northern Traffic Commissioners at a fares application earlier this year, has been completed by United Automobile Services Ltd. United, an NBC subsidiary company, is now to ask local authorities to subsidize rural bus services, and reach their decisions by December 31.
The company has intimated that, if subsidies are not forthcoming, the loss-making services will be terminated by the end of January, 1971. Services which could be affected include the NorthallertonStockton, Northallerton-Middlesbrough and SedgefieldDarlington routes.
